La Poza location map
Near the bottom of this map you will see a community called La Media Luna (it's right on the Laguna Madre). If you follow the road northwest about 10 miles you would be in la Poza (it's not listed on this map, but we're right on the Laguna Madre as well).

This
link doesn't list La Poza either but it can give you an idea of where it is in relation to Brownsville. On this map locate San Fernando. We're about 25 miles a little north and east (on the Laguna Madre) of San Fernando.

The Henry's, in devotion to the ministry in Mexico, recently moved into La Poza, Mexico. Until 2002, Steve was an elder (pastor & missions pastor) on staff at a church in Indiana. Robin is a Registered Nurse. They now reside in La Poza, in order to learn Spanish by immersion amongst the people. They hope to minister the gospel and plant a church.

InAsMuch Ministries
Romania - Inasmuch:

Since 1991, soon after the Romanian Revolution and overthrow of communism, Ron & Sue Bates left the comforts of America to minister to the desperate needs of the Romanians, starting with a “Bibles in Braille” printing ministry to get God's Word into the hands of the blind.  There were only 2 known copies in the whole country when they started.  They also printed Braille Christian literature, song books, gospel tracts, stories from the NT for children, and textbooks for the Blind Schools.  These were given freely to any blind person in Romania and the Republic of Moldova who desires to have the Scriptures and other Braille literature.

Ron found that the Gypsies of Romania were interested in the Gospel and he began ministering to them. Gypsies are a despised people amongst the Romanians.  The success of the gospel founded the need for churches among the Gypsies.

Ron & Sue couldn't ignore the obvious plight of the street children and began to take hot soup, bread, clothing, medicine....and the gospel to them at the North Train Station where they lived.  As a result of years of seemingly little results but much hard work and tears, because they trusted us and knew we loved them....unconditionally, they began bringing their babies and small children to them to take care of.

So the Lord put it on their hearts to begin the "Inasmuch Children's Homes" - for "children at risk".  These included children of street kids, babies that would have been aborted or abandoned to live on the streets, and also orphaned children of Romania.  By God's grace and mercy, there is a home for these mothers and their children.  There were 48 mothers and children living at their "Garden House" in Ciorogirla in 2004.

In the next village called Bolintin Deal, the Bateses established a home for 60 young women (2004) who were raised in the orphanage system and then forced into the streets when they became 18.

Both Ron and Sue have since gone to be with the Lord, but others have stepped in to keep the InAsMuch Ministry functioning.
